Roland “Ro Spit” Coit is the owner of Burn Rubber Sneaker boutique, a skilled deejay with universal appeal, and a dynamic, constantly-evolving rapper with several new releases available on all major platforms this year. Coit was born and raised in Pontiac, where he grew up through an era of hip hop that felt real, accessible, and vital to him. The city’s sense of struggle and fight, especially for its identity, is what drives Coit to remain dedicated to his own. Coit’s evolution as an artist and businessman sets a precedent for what it means to be self-made, creating a lane for himself and other creative entrepreneurs learning from his path. Most recently, as Partner at The Secret Garden, Coit co-developed a creative mentoring and management collective to support emerging artists with shared values. Coit began as a deejay throughout the Metro Detroit area, most notably, at the iconic St. Andrews Hall/The Shelter. With his cousin One Be Lo providing the launchpad for his rap career, Coit has since shared stages with The Clipse, Wale, Talib Kweli, DJ Premier and Slum Village. Coit has toured across Italy, France, Germany and Spain, and secured several corporate partnerships to support his work, all while representing and giving back to the city that shaped him. Coit is a small business owner with international reach, grounded by his loyalty to place, people, and authenticity.
